Amitabh Bachchan dances to ‘Shake Your Bootiya’ with Deepika, Arjun

The peppy track ‘Shake your bootiya’ made megastar Amitabh Bachchan put on his dancing shoes for a jig with “Finding Fanny” stars Arjun Kapoor and Deepika Padukone on a new episode of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’.
The song from the young stars’ forthcoming film ‘Finding Fanny’ is on everyone’s lips and the 71-year-old enjoyed dancing on it when the duo joined him on the set of KBC’s eighth season, which he hosts.
After shooting with them, Big B took to his blog to not just share some photographs, but also to share his experience.
“After the gruels of character acts in the film shoot, there is reality in television and the switching over of temperament and thought and act and every other action that must necessarily be away from the one enacted before.
“But some things remain constant – Deepika Padukone for example … she be with me on ‘Piku’ and she be with me, on KBC to promote her film ‘Finding Fanny’ along with Arjun Kapoor … and fun times it was.
“Especially the ‘bootiya dance’ … hahaha…its a popular number in the film and been done with some finesse,” he added.
“Piku”, directed by Shoojit Sircar, also stars Irrfan. It will hit the screens April 30, 2015.

Meanwhile, “Finding Fanny” is ready to hit the screens Sep 12.

Angelina jolie and brad pitt were married

NEW YORK (AP) — The wait is finally over: Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Hollywood's reigning royal couple, have tied the knot.
Despite two years of feverish scrutiny, the pair managed to keep one of the world's most anticipated weddings shrouded from the media's glare.
When? Where? Why haven't they yet? Did they already? The celebrity press and "Brangelina" fans alike had been consumed with the matrimonial mystery.
On Thursday, a spokeswoman for the couple confirmed to The Associated Press that they wed Saturday in a private ceremony in Southern France. The representative, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because she was not authorized to be quoted by name, said Jolie and Pitt exchanged vows in a small chapel at the Chateau Miraval in the Provence hamlet of Correns.
Since 2008, Miraval has been the couple's Southern France home, a sprawling estate they bought three years ago.
The union was less a vow of commitment than the official affirmation of one made long ago. Pitt and Jolie have been together nearly a decade and have six children, all of whom participated in the wedding.
The wedding may have been cloaked in secrecy, but Pitt and Jolie are preparing to be a big presence at the movies this fall. Pitt stars in the upcoming World War II drama "Fury," due out Oct. 17. Jolie's second directorial effort, the World War II odyssey "Unbroken," will be released in December.
On Thursday, Pitt was far from any honeymoon hideaway. Instead, he was at the Bovington Tank Museum in Dorset, U.K., promoting "Fury," a brutal tale about a tank of American soldiers rolling through Europe in the final days of World War II.
Both movies could be major players in Hollywood's award season, which last year was dominated by a film produced by Pitt, the best picture-winning historical drama "12 Years a Slave."
At Saturday's ceremony, Jolie walked the aisle with her eldest sons, 13-year-old Maddox and 10-year-old Pax. Daughters Zahara, 9, and Vivienne, 6, threw flower petals. Eight-year-old Shiloh and Knox, 6, served as ring bearers, the couple's spokesman said.
In advance of the nondenominational civil ceremony, Pitt and Jolie obtained a marriage license from a local California judge. The judge also conducted the ceremony in France.
Pitt once said that he didn't want to marry until gay marriage was legal everywhere, but in recent years, the couple had said publicly they intended to. They were engaged in early 2012 after some seven years together.
"It's an exciting prospect, even though for us, we've gone further than that," Pitt told The AP in an interview in November 2012. "But to concretize it in that way, it actually means more to me than I thought it would. It means a lot to our kids."
This is the second marriage for Pitt, who wed Jennifer Aniston in 2000. They divorced in 2005.
Jolie was previously married to British actor Jonny Lee Miller for three years in the late 1990s and to Billy Bob Thornton for three years before divorcing in 2003. Jolie has said she and Pitt fell in love while making the 2005 film "Mr. & Mrs. Smith."

Jolie won the supporting actress Oscar for "Girl, Interrupted" in 1999 and was nominated for the best-actress Oscar for 2008's "Changeling." Pitt shared the Academy Award for best picture for "12 Years a Slave."

Shakira, Santana to headline at FIFA World Cup 2014 final

Rio de Janeiro: Pop star Shakira will perform before the World Cup final in Rio de Janeiro on July 13, headlining a closing ceremony that includes guitar virtuoso Carlos Santana and rapper Wyclef Jean. Shakira, who is making her third straight World Cup appearance, will sing "La la la (Brazil 2014)" with Brazilian star Carlinhos Brown, FIFA said in a statement on Wednesday.
Santana, Wyclef and Brazilian singer Alexandre Pires will perform the tournament's official anthem, "Dar Um Jeito" at the legendary Maracana Stadium. Pires will also perform a medley of local music with Brazilian star Ivete Sangalo. "I'm thrilled to be performing my song 'La la la (Brazil 2014)' at the 2014 FIFA World Cup closing ceremony," said Shakira, who had a son last year with Spain defender Gerard Pique. "I have an intricate relationship with football for obvious reasons, and I truly understand what the World Cup means to so many people, myself included." While FIFA announced the musical lineup, eight teams are left battling for two spots at the Maracana, but defending champions Spain were already eliminated in the group phase. Shakira's native Colombia will play Brazil in the quarter-final on Friday following France-Germany. On Saturday, Argentina play Belgium followed by Netherlands-Costa Rica. -

Deepika padukone voted sexiest woman in the world

Deepika Padukone has been voted the sexiest woman in the world in a poll conducted by the fashion magazine.

She will feature in the new edition of the magazine and the actress Wednesday unveiled the edition featuring her and the other girls in the top 100 list of sexiest women.

However, Deepika believes that her physical appearance has got nothing to do with this poll and it is only her work that led her to this.

"I think something like this is really the result of the work that I do. I don't think it has got anything to do with me physically. I also think that the brand endorsements are also the result of the films that you do," the statusque actress said here.

"I have been very fortunate that the roles I have done in the last 2-3 years have been very different from each other. So I guess this and the endorsements are a result of that and, of course, the success of that and the relatability of the characters," she added.

Deepika was last seen in the Tamil film "Kochadaiiyaan."

People think I'd be a great villain: Jolie

Actress Angelina Jolie finds it funny how people think she makes a great villain and would be perfect to play the part of a wicked witch in `Maleficent`.

The 38-year-old appears as the titular wicked witch in the film and says she was always drawn to the character when she was younger, reports contactmusic.com.

"It is really funny when people say you'd be obvious for a great villain. She was just my favourite as a little girl. I was terrified of her, but I was really drawn to her. I loved her,` she told Entertainment Weekly magazine.

"There were some discussions about it before I got the part and I got a phone call from my brother who said, 'You've got to get your name on the list for this,` added Jolie.

The star raises six children with her fiance Brad Pitt - Maddox, 12, Pax, 10, Zahara, nine, Shiloh, seven, and twins Vivienne and Knox, five.

Salman planning to get married soon

Superstar Salman Khan has hinted at a possibility of getting hitched by the end of this year as he is tired of being single for a long time.

The 48-year-old 'Jai Ho' star, who was at his funniest best at last evening's India Today Conclave 2014, did not rule out the chances of marrying Romanian beauty Iulia Vantur, whom he is allegedly dating for quite sometime. "Now I'm in transit period and I like it.

From the age of 15, I did not get a transit period. For the first time, I have such a chance to sigh. I am sighing more since it has been two-and-a-half years. It's time to stop sighing because something soon will happen in my life... "I follow humanity. I follow Islam, Christianity, and follow right thing as much I can. I have been kind of blessed. Father is Pathan, mother is Hindu, second mother is catholic, and brother-in-law is Punjabi.

Wife, I am thinking to bring from outside...," Salman said. Salman has often been linked with his co-stars and also being termed as a 'possessive' boyfriend. He admitted that he was a miserable lover but a great friend.

"When you are in a relationship you try everything to see that she doesn't leave you. You try to be good. You give her a silent treatment. You yell, cry and when nothing works you say go.

"I thought they were the most correct people for me... Great girls bad boyfriend. I have not been like the most incredible boy friend. I could be the friend and I have heard this from the ex girlfriends also that (he is) a great friend but miserable boyfriend," Salman said.

The actor also thanked his parents -- father Salim Khan and mothers Sushila Charak Khan and Helen -- for being with him at his worst times. "No child would have given them as may problems. I was a naughty kid.

They had to hear slanderous things about their son from others -- the jail episodes, the cases that have come. If these things would not have come, my father and mother would have looked as young as I look now," he said.

Movie Review: 'Queen' Kangna Shines In A Near-Flawless Inspirational Tale

How Rani Gets Her Groove Back'.... There are some films that you simply don't want to end. And when they do you want to spring out of your seat and give the darned thing a standing ovation. Queen, directed by that Chillar Party co-director Vikas Bahl is that rarity. Its thematic elegance and narrative wisdom surpasses anything that you might have come to expect from the frothy ebullient trailers.

Frothy and ebullient, Queen certainly is. But it's a lot more. At the end you are left so close to the characters and their life-defining milieu that the late Bobby Singh's camera lenses dissolve and merge into the very fabric of the narrative.

And to think that the film begins with another big fat Punjabi wedding! Before we know it the narrative takes wings, much like its protagonist Rani played by the born-again Kangna Ranaut. Seven years ago she had made her stunning debut in Anurag Basu's Gangster only to serve up a series of disappointing films and performances.

In Queen Kangna gets her groove back. And how! Kangna is so in-sync with her character that you wonder if the story was written according to the emotions that the actress had stored away in her heart . It all comes out now in a portrait that for years would be summoned up as an epitome of on-screen transparency.

There is stark honesty about Kangna's portrayal of the Delhi girl who is deserted by her husband-to-be days before the wedding. Familiar, no? Director Bahl turns the oft-repeated tale of betrayal and self-realization into an ode to womanhood. The naked yearning in Rani's eyes when she pleads with the selfish idiot not to destroy her life is so real it leaves you shaken.

You know immediately that this girl means business. And so, let me tell you , does the director.Vikas Bahl possesses a keen eye for physical and emotional detail. When the feisty grandmother pleads with the jilted bride-to-be from outside the locked room to not be disheartened the bride's kid brother quietly brings a chair for the old lady..... Bahl makes astounding use of a wide spectrum of topography from Delhi to Paris to Amsterdam to give specificity to the protagonist's obvious weaknesses and inner strengths. By the time the journey ends you don't care where Rani is. She will be fine wherever life takes her.

Here is that rare director who knows how to articulate his characters' feelings through the spaces that they occupy.Kangna's face and body-language do the rest. She lives through every moment of Rani's journey from a Delhi middleclass' cocooned existence to a girl making her way through the dark sinister alleys of Paris and strippers' joints of Amsterdam in a voyage of self-realization that makes Sridevi's journey in English Vinglish look like a pre-paid vacation.

There is something magical about the way Bahl uses Kangna's artless vulnerability to express the character's hurt and desire, sometimes both in the same breath. At the end we're left with a female character who is naive and yet worldly-wise,who thinks sex happens only after marriage and yet kisses an aggressive Italian stranger just because she finds him as hot as Salman Khan. Rani naively lectures a stripper in Amsterdam from ultra-conservative Pakistan(a curious anomaly, this) on how she must find a better job for herself, and yet thinks nothing of getting drunk in a Parisian bar with her bindaas half-French half-Indian girl pal(Lisa Hayden sexy and savvy) to the pounding sounds of Asha Bhosle's Hungama ho gaya.

But then Bollywood music does that to anyone. It liberates the spirit. And Kangna's Rani is on the look-out for just that. The silken-smooth plot can be roughly divided into the 'Parisian' and the 'Amsterdam' half ,though neither of two cities come across as touristic spots . Even when Bahl takes his wide-eyed heroine and her sexy girl-pal to the Eiffel Tower it is to look at that monumental edifice in a gaze that cinema has never dared before.

But then Queen is that kind of a film. I came away so much richer, spirit awash with thoughts of hope life and sunshine. Every character from Rani's parents , to her Parisian friend Vijay-Laxmi(who ironically has the same first-name as her cad of a fiance) to her three male room-mates in Amsterdam make a space in your heart forever.

The brilliantly transitional screenplay has no jagged edges. Every component somehow slips into place. As Bahl tells his story we become one with Rani's journey. The desperate optimism of her marriage-less honeymoon directs her to inner reserves of strength and will-power that she didn't know existed.By the time Rani's journey end , you are supremely attached to her soul .

Ranaut's performance holds the film together even as Rajkummar Rao as the selfish fiance and Lisa Haydon as Rani's bohemian Parisian pal lend added colour to the bewitching canvas. The smallest of the roles are performed with unconditional conviction . Once in a while in the movies we get to meet a girl as free-spirited as Rani. Infectious in their joie de vivre the film and its protagonist's zest for life are endearing and contagious.Queen is the quintessential inspirational tale with a central performance that makes most of what we see in Hindi cinema look like put-on slide shows . If you miss Queen you may never get a chance to know how Rani journeyed into self-actualization.

And that would be your loss entirely.

Shaadi Ke Side Effects box office collections

Farhan Akhtar and Vidya Balan starrer “Shaadi Ke Side Effects” didn’t create fireworks on the opening day but showed good growth over the weekend, say trade experts.
Co-produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and Pritish Nandy Communications, the film is about the relationship of a young and urban married couple. Made at a budget of about Rs.50 crore, it hit approximately 1,500 screens Feb 28.
“‘Shaadi Ke Side Effects’ has collected about Rs.23 crore in India in four days. Expectations were higher due to the star cast. It didn’t have a good opening but picked up on the weekend,” Rajesh Thadani of Multimedia Combines told IANS.
Trade analyst Komal Nahta was disappointed with the film’s story.
“’Shaadi Ke Side Effects’ is funny upto a point but then it loses the plot completely,” he tweeted.
Though the trade pundits aren’t very thrilled, Farhan was content with the weekend box office collection and tweeted: “Weekend’s side effects for our film ‘Shaadi Ke Side Effects’ have been good. Thank you all for your love and please keep the feedback coming. Big hug.”
Vir Das, who also features in the romantic comedy directed by Saket Chaudhary, is overjoyed with the film’s response.
“Did ‘Shaadi Ke Side Effects’ to goof around and have a laugh with fun folks. Never ever expected this explosion of kindness. Thank you so much,” he posted on Twitter.

Gates reclaims Forbes title of world's richest billionaire

Bill Gates reclaimed the top spot on the Forbes rich list this year after a four-year hiatus, shoving aside Mexico's telecom tycoon Carlos Slim Helu.

Microsoft's (MSFT, Fortune 500) founder Gates was propelled to the top spot primarily because of a rally in the software company's stock, said Forbes, which published its annual list of the world's richest billionaires on Monday. Gates is now valued at $76 billion, compared to $67 billion last year, when he was No. 2 on the list.

Slim built the bulk of his $72 billion fortune from his controlling interest in telecom company America Movil (AMX), which dominates the landline and mobile phone networks in Mexico. But he lost his four-year status as the world's richest billionaire because shares in his mining company Minera Frisco plunged more than 50% last year in tandem with prices of gold and copper, said Forbes. He is the only the billionaire in the top 10 to have lost money.

Gates and Slim are followed by Spanish retail mogul Amancio Ortega, worth $64 billion, Berkshire Hathaway (BRKA, Fortune 500) CEO and renowned investor Warren Buffett, at $58.2 billion, and Oracle (ORCL, Fortune 500) founder Larry Ellison, $48 billion.

The list goes on and on this year, because there are more billionaires than ever, according to Forbes. There are 1,645 billionaires, which is 268 more than the previous year. This is the largest annual increase of billionaires.
There were also 42 new women billionaires, a record, for a total of 172. Facebook's COO and author of feminist manifesto "Lean In," Sheryl Sandberg, joined the billionaire's club for the first time.
The richest woman in the world is Christy Walton, a member of WalMart (WMT, Fortune 500) royalty with $36.7 billion. Her wealth got a substantial boost from last year's surge in First Solar (FSLR) stock which she inherited from her husband, John Walton, who died in a crash in 2005, according to Forbes. She occupies the ninth spot on the list, just ahead of another WalMart honcho, Jim Walton.
Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg made the biggest dollar gain on the list, gaining $15.2 billion from the prior year to reach $28.5 billion, propelled by a Facebook (FB, Fortune 500) rally. Now he inhabits No. 21 on the list.

The closely-watched rich list ran into some drama last year, when Saudi prince Alwaleed Bin Tala Alsaud dropped out of the top 20 ranking of billionaires. The chairman of investment services company Kingdom Holding disputed his No. 26 ranking, saying that he would sever all ties with the "false and inaccurate" Forbes list.
The wealth of the Saudi prince edged up this year, to $20.4 billion from $20 billion. But his rank on the list slipped still further, to No. 30.
This is because wealth, generally speaking, has been growing for the richest people on the planet. Altogether, the world's billionaires are worth $6.4 trillion, compared to a total of $5.4 trillion the year before, according to Forbes.

'12 Years a Slave' named best picture

The searing drama "12 Years a Slave" was named best picture at the 86th Academy Awards on Sunday night.
The story of Solomon Northup, a free African-American man who was kidnapped and sold into slavery, won just three awards, but they were all major: best picture, best supporting actress (Lupita Nyong'o) and best adapted screenplay (John Ridley).
Brad Pitt, one of the film's producers, accepted on behalf of the film before deferring to its director, a noticeably excited -- and tongue-tied -- Steve McQueen.
"Everyone deserves not just to survive, but to live. This is the most important legacy of Solomon Northup," McQueen said.
He added, "This is for all the people who have endured slavery, and the 21 million people who still endure slavery today."

Nyong'o, a newcomer, paid tribute to her character, Patsey, a slave in 1840s Louisiana. Her voice cracked as she spoke.
"It doesn't escape me for one moment that so much joy in my life is because of so much pain in someone else's," she said.
The force of 'Gravity'
"Gravity" topped all films with seven Oscars, including an award for director Alfonso Cuaron.
The Mexican director devoted four years of his life to making the technically challenging film about a space mission gone wrong. He's the first Latin American to win the award.
"Gravity's" other Oscars are for original score, visual effects, sound mixing and sound editing, cinematography and film editing.
"Dallas Buyers Club" won three awards, including two in acting categories: best actor for Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto for best supporting actor. The film also won for makeup and hairstyling.
As expected, Cate Blanchett won best actress for her turn as a modern-day Blanche DuBois in the Woody Allen film "Blue Jasmine."
Blanchett praised films with female protagonists. Female-centric movies are "not niche -- they make money!" she exclaimed to an ovation.
"Let It Go," from the animated film "Frozen," won best song. Robert Lopez, one of its songwriters, became an EGOT with his Oscar win: He now has an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony. "Frozen" also for won best animated feature.
One of the evening's highlights was Darlene Love, one of the singers featured in documentary winner "20 Feet From Stardom." Love launched into an impromptu version of "His Eye Is on the Sparrow" upon the film's win, and her full-throated take brought down the house.
"The Great Gatsby" won two Oscars, for production design and costume design. Italy's "The Great Beauty" took home the Oscar for foreign-language film.
"American Hustle," which had tied "Gravity" for the most Oscar nominations (10), was completely shut out at the awards ceremony.
Five things to know
Ellen sets a record
Oscar host Ellen DeGeneres managed to set a social media record with a celebrity-filled selfie that was retweeted more times than any photograph in Twitter history.
She went into the audience and gathered a number of stars -- including Meryl Streep, Kevin Spacey and Bradley Cooper, who shot the image -- and encouraged people to send it around the world. She had a pretty good head start, given that she has more than 25 million followers on Twitter.
DeGeneres was generally loose and low-key throughout the broadcast, inspiring smiles more than laughs. In her opening monologue, she cracked the usual jokes about Hollywood and image. Later, she went into the audience to ask if anyone wanted a pizza -- and even borrowed Pharrell's famous hat to collect a few bucks for payment.
There were also some somber moments.
The "In Memoriam" segment, which has received scrutiny in recent years after certain omissions, included notables who recently died -- among them Sid Caesar, Harold Ramis and Shirley Temple Black -- and concluded with Philip Seymour Hoffman. And when he took the stage to present the award for best cinematography, Bill Murray worked in a shout-out for his old "Ghostbusters" and "Groundhog Day" friend Ramis.
Blues in the night
On the red carpet, blue was the color of choice for many stars.
Nyong'o was dressed in a striking sky-blue Prada gown. Liza Minnelli and best actress nominee Amy Adams ("American Hustle") also were in shades of blue.
Jennifer Lawrence was an exception: She was in a striking red dress.
But for "12 Years" actress Alfre Woodard, very little of the glitter mattered.
Asked by CNN's Piers Morgan what she was wearing, Woodard laughingly turned the question back toward the work that got all the nominees to the red carpet in the first place.
"I hope I'm wearing my talent tonight," she said.

Aamir Khan's life under threat; actor buys Rs 10 cr bombproof car

amir khan
If sources are to be believed, Aamir Khan now enjoys the distinction of owning the most expensive car in Bollywood. It seems that the actor’s recent purchase, a Mercedes Benz S600 that he has been travelling in of late, is a ‘special protection’ car.

What’s more, sources say that the actor, who is the third person in the country — after PM Manmohan Singh and industrialist Mukesh Ambani — to own this model, made this expensive purchase in a bid to tackle security threats.

Says a source, “After the first season of Satyamev Jayate, Aamir Khan received a few threats as he had openly talked against female foeticide, medical malpractices and honour killings in the show. He then decided to purchase this expensive bombproof car. There are a lot of people out there who own bulletproof cars, but his bombproof car is a customised model and it is specially made for VVIPs.”
The actor was first spotted in this car when he dropped in at a suburban five-star for a party. It is being said that the car cost him around Rs 10 crore.
The source adds that Aamir had initially informed the police about the threats and even received police protection, but under pressure from his family and close friends, he had to place an order for this car.
“The second season of his show, Satyamev Jayate, is scheduled to hit TV screens from March 2, and its episodes may throw light on issues such as governance, corruption and the Lok Sabha elections this year. So he was advised to take no chances,” says a source close to the star.
Aamir Khan remained unavailable for comment.
Other Bollywood celebrities who have recently faced security threats
Sonu Nigam recently approached the police after he received a call from an underworld don. While there is no confirmation on this, sources say it was Chhota Shakeel. But apparently, the singer did not file any police complaint.
Sonu Nigam
Akshay Kumar received calls last month threatening him for having fired his maid. Police officials said that these were prank calls. But they didn’t rule out the possibility of gangster Ravi Pujari making extortion calls either.
Akshay Kumar
Karan Johar received threats recently. The case was later transferred to an anti-extortion cell and the calls were traced to a gangster. The director-producer has now applied for a round-the-clock police security cover.

Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor received death threats on the phone from an unidentified person, suspected to be linked to underworld don Ravi Pujari's gang.
Boney Kapoor
It seems that no specific demands were made but the person threatened to kill him in his own house as a form of retribution against a certain thief’s imprisonment. A complaint has been lodged at Oshiwara Police station. Senior inspector Nasir Pathan recently revealed that the investigations are still on and the anti-extortion unit is also carrying out a parallel inquiry about the same. The police has now increased the security strength near his residence.

'I have become Besharam now'

Manjari Phadnis has been a little slow in her journey in Bollywood. The 29-year-old actress has appeared in Hindi, Telugu, Bengali, Kannada and Tamil language films

In an interview with CS, she talks about changing herself as an actor, being shameless and more.

Friday Fear
I think every actor goes through that phase. For my next release, there is no time to actually feel the fear because we have been busy with promoting the film. There has been no time to sit and breathe since my last release. Initially, when I came in the industry I was naive. Now I have learnt the ropes and also understood that if I have done my best, there is no need to fear.

Maturing as an actor
I have become a tad besharam after acting in Grand Masti and my next release. The characters in both the films required me to be comfortable in my skin. I have realised, inhibitions are a luxury which we can't afford.

Shedding away the real you to make way for your reel character is a tough task. Once the character is chalked out, as an actor we have to think like her and even behave like what the scriptwriter has imagined the character to be. This is one of the pre-requisites. I have trained myself to be able to handle glamour with elegance.

Lucky charm
I have been very lucky to perform with the best names in the industry. Every Hindi film that I have worked in has been different from one another. I want to do different work and try every possible genre and stretch my abilities as an actor. I have worked in films down South too and it is a different experience altogether.

However it is a myth that Bollywood is not as professional as the industry down South. Finding feet I started working after 12th standard. I didn't know anyone in the industry at that time. However, some of my closest friends have been the ones I have worked with.

Madhurima Tuli, Varun Sharma are some of my 4am friends. When you're working round the clock with each other, you tend to become close. However, the challenge of maintaining the friendship is when the film gets over and everyone gets busy with other work.

Movie Review: 'Phata Poster Nikla Hero'

He bashes up multiple goons at one time, he sheds copious tears, he prances around the pole, he romances, and does everything that an actor hopes to do on screen. It seems like this film is making up for all the opportunities that Shahid Kapoor missed and deserved in the last decade that he’s been around. Phata Poster Nikla Hero is a Shahid Kapoor show all the way, with him dominating every scene. Actually given the actor’s tremendous screen presence and that cute face, one doesn’t really mind an overdose. But what one minds is the equally talented director Rajkumar Santoshi doing a Rip Van Winkle and being firmly stuck in a time warp. The movie, which could have been made in the ’80s talks about Vishwas Rao, who dreams of becoming a hero. But his mother (Padmini Kolhapure makes a comeback with this one) has other plans for him. She wants him to be an honest Police Inspector, in short a real-life hero.

Vishwas comes to Mumbai under the pretext of training for the police, but lands up in a failed writer’s den full of wannabes.
The first half of the movie keeps you entertained as Vishwas goofily goes around trying to make it in Bollywood. As predictable as it can be, in the process he falls in love with a social worker Kajal (Illeana D’cruz) and also ends up in a crime boss’ net. Some of the dialogues in the film are laugh-out-loud funny. The director has a good enough team of talents like Saurabh Shukla, Darshan Jhariwala and Sanjay Mishra to give him company.
However, the film starts getting on your nerves as it gets louder and louder with every passing minute. The jokes fall flat most of the time, as they seem outdated, inconsistent and repetitive. Padmini Kolhapure disappoints, as her character seems unconvincing as a rickshaw-driving poor woman with a blob of foundation and an overdose of mascara on her face. Even though at times the goings-on evoke some giggles, they seem too far and too little in this two-and-half-hour long marathon. Most often than not the buffoonery adopted by each of the characters seem too desperate than funny. Illeana D’cruz’s role of someone who discovers injustice and crime all around her and rushes to the police station on a regular basis, could have been interesting but seems lost in this whole “we are so funny that we can’t stop making faces” yawnathon. The foot-tapping music by Pritam is the saving grace.
Watch this film only if you are a Shahid Kapoor fan. And if you are a Rajkumar Santoshi fan, watch Andaz Apna Apna instead to save yourself from disappointment.
The best scene of the film is the one which involves Salman Khan. Khan plays himself and actually plays himself, thus giving this film a delightful interlude.

Dilip Kumar out of ICU, Will get discharged soon

Veteran actor Dilip Kumar, who was under observation in the intensive care unit of Lilavati hospital following a heart attack, was Sunday shifted out after improvement in his health, said Murshid Khan, an aide.

Khan is the manager of Dilip Kumar’s wife and yesteryear actress Saira Banu.
“Dilipji is absolutely fine now. He is feeling much better. He has been shifted to the normal ward from the ICU. Most probably he will get discharged in the next three days,” Murshid Khan told IANS.
The 90-year-old actor was hospitalised Sunday evening after he complained of uneasiness.
A leading light of the Mumbai film fraternity, the thespian entertained movie buffs for six decades both as a lead hero and as character artist in films like “Jwar Bhata” “Mela”, “Naya Daur”, “Tarana”, “Ganga Jamuna”, “Leader”, “Mughal-E-Azam”, “Shakti”, “Karma” and “Saudagar”.

Masti producers planning Masti 3 to franchise?

Actress Sonalee Kulkarni, seen in “Grand Masti”, has hinted that the filmmakers are already planning a third movie to the franchise.
“The best compliment for a filmmaker is when the audience asks them about the next part. So yes, it’s a compliment and I am sure our makers are listening to it. Definitely, the process for a third part must have begun,” Sonalee said here at the Globoil India Awards Saturday.
Asked if she would be a part of the third film, Sonalee said: “I don’t know! It would be too early to say it. The script has not started and they are still contemplating on it because the audience accepted the second part well. So it’s still too early to talk about it.”
Meanwhile, Sonalee has thanked the audience for making her debut film a superhit and says she couldn’t have asked for more.
“Thank you so much everyone. The film couldn’t have been a success without you all. Thanks to all the audiences and viewers who watched the film two to three times in theatres,” Sonalee said.
“What else can I ask for… it’s awesome, amazing,” she added.
Directed by Indra Kumar, “Grand Masti” is a sequel to the 2004 film “Masti” and stars Ritesh Deshmukh, Aftab Shivdasani and Vivek Oberoi.

Soha is in happy live-in relationship with Kunal

Soha Ali Khan is in no hurry to take mom Sharmila Tagore's advice to tie the knot soon

Soha Ali Khan is in a happy live-in relationship with her beau of four years, Kunal Khemu. With her brother Saif Ali Khan already married, their mother Sharmila Tagore is hoping her daughter ties the knot soon. But Soha, it seems, is not in the mood to listen to her mother anytime soon.

Soha spills the beans that it is in fact Saif, who has warned her not to get married before turning 40. The actress feels a strong commitment in a relationship is more important than the institution of marriage itself.

She says, "We have taken a big step together of living-in, which is equivalent to being married. For me, that's the biggest step."

About defying her mother's wishes, Soha says, "She is a mother and she wants her child to settle down. But for me, moving together was the biggest step.

Marriage is not on my mind right now. Bhai also advises everyone to get married after turning 40," says the 34-year-old, who plays a journalist in her upcoming film, War Chhod Na Yaar. Saif and Kareena too shared a live-in relationship for five years before eventually getting married.

WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes: Fired Or Taking A Break For Marriage?

Is Cody choosing love over work? The WWE star is about to say ‘I do’ and take a break from the wrestling ring — find out why!

It’s already been an unforgettable week for WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes — and it’s not over yet. Wedding bells are merely days away for the 28-year-old wrestler, who sadly lost his Sept. 2 match to Randy Orton on Monday Night RAW.

Randy Orton Beats Cody Rhodes On ‘Monday Night RAW’

What was supposed to be the match of his career, sadly, didn’t end in his favor. Cody and Randy went face-to-face in the wrestling ring Sept. 2, only for it to end in heartbreak for the soon-to-be-married superstar. Cody came close to beating Randy, but not close enough. Instead of ending the match with his signature move, the match ended with an RKO from Randy Orton.
And after the match, Triple H shockingly fired Cody! However, some are speculating Triple H really fired Cody because he’s taking time off for his wedding and honeymoon, according to the Inquisitr.
Meanwhile, Randy’s in the middle of jump-starting his career again. During the SummerSlam “Superstars For Hope” event at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Aug. 15, HollywoodLife.com spoke to Randy EXCLUSIVELY about his career plans:
It’s been a couple years and I have been laying low and I think it’s about that time. There have been some personal things going on, there have been things at work going on, but they all have come to a head and life is simplifying itself right now so I can concentrate more at work. The last two or three months I have had some really good matches with Christian, RVD and Daniel Bryan and I am looking forward to more of that. And here we are at SummerSlam, the biggest PPV and I don’t have a match. I got to find something to do, right?
Cody Rhodes & Brandi Reed Getting Married — Congrats
Cody is getting married this week to ring announcer Brandi Reed; he proposed to her back in November 2012. Brandi began her career as a developmental talent recruiter for FCW under the name Eden Stiles and then went on to work as a ring announcer. In December 2011, Brandi asked for her release, according to the Inquisitr.
While Cody might be feeling a little blue about the match, we’re sure he’s very excited about his wedding and honeymoon!
